Structural Repairs To Crusher Feeder- Underground Limestone Mine

The Mine Engineer and I designed a simple process to pull the wall of the feeder assembly back to its original position and reinforce it to prevent further damage from ore impact. We welded a new I-beam in to place, burned holes to put large all-thread bolts through, and ratcheted the wall back to the proper position.

My team and I were tasked with identifying and solving an infrastructure problem. Build-up of grease fat in sewage systems can cause millions of dollars of damage, so we created this grease disposal system. It was built to be mounted underneath a kitchen sink like a garbage disposal. When liquid grease was poured down the sink drain after being used to cook, it was cooled to its freezing temperature and collected for removal. I was responsible for housing construction and building materials. This was a functional prototype.
